Current Projects ANI: CONSERVATION AND PRESERVATION OF THE SITE
The Historic City of Ani was added to the World Monuments Watch list of the 100 Most Endangered sites in the World in 1996, through hard work on the part of Ms. Arioba, Mr. Green and Dr. Karamagarali. This has helped greatly in drawing attention to the plight of this little known, but very important historical site. The World Monuments Watch listing resulted in a grant from the Samuel H. Kress Foundation in New York, which enabled the dispatch of an initial international technical mission to Ani, with its accomplishments being documented in the report below.
